Still Waiting

No news yet - We're now 4 days overdue and we're ALL just waiting.

And did I mention it's snowing?

Not yet

Hi everyone - yes, we're still waiting. But most babies are late, so who knows. Baby will come when he's good and ready, I guess. It's our first lesson that we no longer control our lives.

Anyways, we took a few more nursery pics, now that it's a little more done. Here you go!

Pictures

Here is a "before" - me at about 3 months:

And a more recent one (2 weeks ago):

I thought this one was kind of cute too. Tia is grooming Baloo. You can't tell so well from the picture, but Baloo loves it when Tia licks his ears.

Here is Jeffrey enjoying his new nap spot - Somehow I don't think he'll like the change table so much after it's been used.

And finally - the pool! Now we're ready. Just need baby to decide to come!

I'm back . . . Kind of

I've been offline for a while, and I think we've finally solved some of the problems, although the connection is still turning on and off. Here's hoping I can post this in one of the brief windows that I have a connection!

No baby yet. I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, so really, anytime would be good. Sooner would be nicer than later, as I'm sure you can understand. Baby is growing and quite big already. Our midwife predicted he'll be in the 10 pound range, so we'll see. We are still planning to have baby at home, barring any issues, so we have all of our supplies ready to go and are just waiting now.

I'm still having trouble getting pictures to upload, so I'll work on that a little later.

Nursery in Progress

Here are some more pictures of the nursery under construction. Our furniture arrived yesterday just after I got back from Kelowna and we assembled the crib last night. This is all starting to feel so real!

Me and the Nursery

My wonderful brother put up our wallpaper border in the nursery today! It looks SOOO good. Now we're just waiting for the furniture and the baby! Today is two months until the due date. Here is a picture of me from tonight and a couple of the nursery without my big belly in the way!

Our Long Weekend

Hi everyone! I know it's been a really long time since I've updated, but it's been busy. Now I just have to make it through July and then August should be a lot slower! (Hopefully) Anyways, our exciting news is that we painted baby's room this weekend! Now that the garage sale is over and we've cleaned out the former guest room, it was time to get in and get a few things ready.

Jeffrey and Tia enjoyed the painting process (a little too much). They discovered that once we took the cold air return cover off, they could get into the space in the floor!

Eventually Jeffrey came out on his own. Tia had to be bribed. Who knew she liked Nacho flavored chips?

The room itself looks awesome. We kept the top half of the walls the color they were and painted the bottom part a dark brown. Our next step, once the paint is good and dry, will be to put up the border, but I kind of doubt that will happen before we leave for camp on Saturday.

25 weeks

I can't believe how fast this is going! Less than 4 months and baby will be here! Wow - is there ever a lot to do still! We've been working on cleaning out the guest room and I'm trying to get all of my church stuff organized over the next few weeks so it's ready to hand off for a few months.

Baby is kicking me a lot - especially at night. And I haven't been sleeping so well because of the heat, but we'll make it through that too! Here are a couple of pics from this weekend:

And here is our handsome puppy after getting all his fur shaved off for the summer. He was sure thankful for it this weekend!

I bought paint!

I know - the small things in life are exciting. We can't start painting the nursery yet, but I bought the paint! (I had to feel like I'm doing SOMETHING!) We also bought our stroller this weekend, but I'm not taking it out of the box until some of the garage sale clutter is gone. We're having a garage sale on June 16 if anyone wants to come buy our stuff!

The ultrasound on Thursday went really well. The technician was so much nicer this time and I was so much more comfortable. I have pictures, but I don't know if I'll get around to scanning them in. Our boy once again proved that he is a boy - no modesty here! Anyways, all looked good and we got a couple of nice face side shots too. He was playing with his eyebrows.

I have to show you this too. A friend of mine who has also struggled with infertility made this for me. (She's due in June). In case it's hard to read, it says "God hears our prayers".

Last night we got to meet our new little neighbor - Patrick and Melanie had their baby on Saturday morning and last night we popped over to meet little Nathan. What a cutie! I'm so excited that there are going to be a bunch of boys the same age on this block!

Tomorrow we meet our midwife. I'm really looking forward to switching over to a midwife's care. As much as I've liked our doctor up to this point, I know that we'll be getting a new doctor anyways in another few weeks, and I'm just so tired of the whole medical system. Why treat pregnancy like it's a disease that has to be treated and managed? Shouldn't this be a natural process?

This is why

You don't camp or plant your garden on or before the long weekend. I woke up to Byron saying, "Wow - look at that snow." Seriously - isn't it almost the end of May? Not that it's really a long weekend for either of us. Byron works today and so I figure I might as well get some stuff done too. I'll take a day off later this week when Byron has one too. Maybe Thursday when I have to go for another ultrasound.

And a few family pics - because they turned out really nice!

Last week Byron's family came to visit and we made them all have family pictures taken. Except Andrea and Calvin . . . . we're still waiting for those! Anyways, here are the ones we took:

We also went to the zoo. This is the newest giraffe: "baby" Richard.

Victoria

OK - so we've been back for two weeks now and I still haven't gotten the pictures up. Here you go:
